Putin crosses the new bridge connecting Russia to Crimea

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday crossed the new bridge connecting Russia to Crimea in an orange truck, inaugurating the road section of this bridge highly symbolic for the Kremlin, according to images broadcast live on television.

Followed by a dozen trucks also orange and other vehicles, the president, in jeans and black jacket, settled at the wheel of the vehicle, released the handbrake and began to roll on the “Crimean Bridge”, The 19-kilometer long stretch from the Taman Peninsula in southern Russia to the Ukrainian Kerch Peninsula in Crimea, annexed by Moscow in March 2014.
