The Ferrari team presented this Thursday its single-seater for the 2018 season of Formula 1, the SF71-H, with which it hopes to recover a title that has not won for ten years.
Despite a second part of the difficult season in 2017, the director of Ferrari, Maurizio Arrivabene, will continue in office and this Thursday he showed his pride and confidence in a ceremony organized in Maranello.
“This car is made in Italy, here in this factory: it represents the excellence of our country,” he said.
“Until the last minute everyone has worked very hard to perfect the smallest details of this car, with the aim of making it the best possible,” he continued.
Second in 2017, the Scuderia will try to take another step in 2018 against Mercedes, a current four-time champion.
“We are capable, I am sure,” said Arrivabene, in the position since November 2014.
Like the rest of the cars of the Formula 1, the new Ferrari incorporates the ‘halo’, the new protection of the ‘cockpit’ mandatory in 2018, a device supported by the Italian training, unlike the other nine teams of the competition.
Ferrari has not won the constructors’ title since 2008 and the drivers since 2007, with Kimi Raikkonen.
The 38-year-old Finn will be accompanied for the fourth consecutive year by the German Sebastian Vettel, eight years younger.
