Housing tax: the Assembly votes to abolish 80% of households by 2020
The reform of the housing tax is one of the flagship measures of Emmanuel Macron’s program
The Assembly voted Saturday by 65 votes to 14 one of the flagship measures of the 2018 budget, the three-year abolition of the housing tax for 80% of households, despite criticism expressed right and left.
Emmanuel Macron’s campaign promise, the reform of the housing tax will start with a first decrease of 30% in 2018 then 65% in 2019 and 100% in 2020 for the households concerned. This will cost 3 billion euros next year, then 6.6 billion euros, and 10.1 billion in 2020.
