Ligue 1: Bordeaux keep contact with the big

Bordeaux, thanks to a magnificent goal of Malcom (69th), provisionally climbed onto the podium of the Ligue 1 by winning Toulouse (1-0) on Friday night opening of the 6th day.

Still undefeated this season, the Girondins, who remained on a frustrating draw in Lille (0-0), climb provisionally to 3rd place with 12 points, behind Monaco (12 points) against Strasbourg Saturday and PSG (15 points) which receives Lyon on Sunday.

And this excellent operation for Jocelyn Gourvennec and his men, who are certain to stay in contact with the big teams at the end of the day, is signed Malcom.

On fire since the beginning of the season, the Brazilian winger, served by François Kamano at the entrance to the surface, unlocked the match by thundering Alban Lafont with a coiled strike from the left, helped by the bar. His third goal this season after his double against Lyon (3-3).

This derby of the Garonne rhythmic will have turned to the advantage of Bordeaux, unlike the last two confrontations at the Stadium since the arrival on the bench of TFC Pascal Dupraz which had resulted in two corrections for the Girondins (4-1 and 4-0).

Hoping to make the same move, Dupraz had lined up a resolutely offensive team with Jimmy Durmaz and Corentin Jean on the wings in support of Ola Toivonen and Andy Delort in the lead. And it is also the Toulouse who have secured the most frank opportunities in the first period.

From the very first minute, Jean, launched by Delort, stumbled on Costil, who after a fine parry came out a strike from Delort after a restart of Durmaz (31st). Finally, Toivonen (45 + 1e), served by Delort, missed the frame of the head.

Beaten for the first time of the season at home, the TFC (10th) is likely to regret it and slip in the second half of the table at the end of the day.

Less explosive but with a foot on the ball, the Bordeaux players made their dominance in the second half. And it was Malcom, already he, who almost brought in the 55th the first goal of Bordeaux by serving as Preville whose strike came out by Alban Lafont, forced to chain a second parry on the recovery of Lerager.

Before the Brazilian unblocks the meeting on his own.
