Hurricane Irma touches extreme south Florida

Hurricane Irma hit the island of Key West in extreme south Florida on Sunday morning with winds of 215 km / h, the US Central Hurricane Center (NHC) said.
The wall of the hurricane’s eye – where the winds are strongest – touched the southern tip of the Keys archipelago, the NHC said in a statement at 11:00 GMT. Irma, which has grown in the night in category 4, is slowly moving to the west coast of mainland Florida at 15 km / h.
