Polar + will be a channel dedicated to series, TV movies and police films
The Canal + group announced on Friday the launch on 26 September of a channel entirely dedicated to series, television films and police films, called Polar + and accessible to its subscribers.
This new channel aims to “find, select and collect all styles of polar (…) from the Norwegian agent to the New York inspector, from the serial killer of Miami to the mafia corsica, Parisian, “promises a press release.
On the program: a box devoted to Nordic polars on Sunday (with the unpublished series Bordertown and Monster), a box dedicated to the American or European novelties on Monday (including Suspect n ° 1: Tennison, prequel of the English series of the 90s Suspect n ° 1) and a box dedicated to the classics of the genre on Thursday.
The channel will also broadcast documentaries in partnership with Planet + Crime Investigation.
“More than seven million households subscribing to the Canal offers will have the pleasure of discovering this channel, making Polar + the most distributed fictional chain on the French market,” said Vivendi’s subsidiary.
Canal + has seen the number of its direct subscribers pass in France under the 5 million mark at the end of June, according to results published on Thursday, but the group compensated the decline thanks to new agreements with telecom operators, which allow it to reaching nearly 8 million subscribers.
